Environmental Impact Preface
DMC fully recognizes its
responsibility to environmental protection and is actively pursuing a policy
that reflects this position. We also recognize that we are accountable in this
respect to both the public and our customers. This publication has been
designed to inform our customers about DMC's environmental policies and
performance.
As you will see, our environmental management policy and
system advocate a proactive forward looking strategy which is strongly linked
to our business objectives. Our programs have been focused on the refinement of
our de-manufacturing processes in the reuse and recycling of electronics
equipment and their by-products with the DMC guarantee that they are not sent
to landfill, for which we have been developing a viable track record. In
addition to continuing these efforts, our policy requires all elements of our
business to conduct their activities in an environmentally responsible manner.
This was particularly relevant in the design of our business management and
recycling processes.
We recognize that our company, together with
other reciprocal business organizations that participate in our processes, has
a major responsibility for protecting the local and global environment, and the
health and safety of our employees, our customers and the communities in which
we operate. This is consistent with the spirit and intent of our established
corporate objectives and cultural values.
1.0 Environmental
Management Policy
Program Scope
- We will provide
recycling services that reflect our environmental responsibility by utilizing
our de-manufacturing and recycling processes to minimize, reduce and finally
eliminate the environmental impact caused by the disposal of electronic
equipment, their by-products and subordinate materials to
landfills.
Guiding
Principles
- We recognize
that excellence in environmental performance and compliance with all applicable
Federal, State, and local environmental regulations is consistent with our
corporate objectives and essential to our continued business
sucess.
- We will ensure
that environmental policies, programs and performance standards are an integral
part of our planning and decision making process.
- We regard sound
environmental management as an integral part of our quality commitment, and
will apply the principles and practices of continuous improvement
accordingly.
- We will set
objectives and targets to improve environmental performance.
- We will practice
continuous design improvement of our operations and processes for the
minimization of disposal to landfills, through re-use and
recycling.
- We will be open
and responsive to the environmental expectations and concerns of our employees,
customers, regulatory agencies, and the public, by providing clear and candid
information about the environmental impact of our products, services and
operations.
- We will design
our services and their associated recycling waste streams in an environmentally
responsible manner.
- We will support
and promote environmental training and responsibility among our employees, and
encourage their initiative and involvement.
- We will
contribute constructively to the shaping of public environmental policy based
on sound business and ethical principles for the prevention of pollution, and
minimization of materials disposed to landfills.
- We will work
with key suppliers and vendors to develop methods and strategies to minimize
electronics waste disposed to landfills.
