Horse Supplements

Horse and livestock supplements are being used by many farmers and ranchers today to give their animals the healthiest life possible. Some of the supplements available for horses are supplements for colic or digestion, for foal development, supplements to build the horse’s hooves, supplements for joint support which is very important for a horse, muscle building support, and vitamins and mineral supplements. Farmers and ranchers want total equine wellness by giving their horses the supplements. You can keep your horse feeling its best and performing its best with the supplements available for them.

There are also supplements for cows, sheep, goats, pigs, and pets. There are food supplements, vitamins and minerals. Food supplements for cows come in tubs as a form of liquid feed which has all of the daily vitamins and minerals a cow needs for healthy bodies. Animal supplements are sometimes considered to be animal feeds. There is a new stir to try to get the animal supplements pulled from the market. While some of them can not be classified as food supplements, they also can not be classified as drugs. A final decision as to whether to pull the supplements or not will be made in April by the AAFCO (Association of American Feed Control Officials). Some of the popular supplements you might find in the pet stores, vets office, or health food stores may not be available for long. Many veterinarians are worried that the government is infringing on territory that may prevent them from doing their jobs properly. Without the vitamins, minerals, and other supplements the animals may not get the care they need to survive or heal. Some of the supplements used are Tumor Aide which is a natural remedy which has been proven to help reduce tumors of all types. Pet Pectillin is a diarrhea medication for dogs, cats, and birds. Kidney-Stone-Treatment is a prevention of kidney stones and related illnesses. It helps the body break down and excrete kidney stones and prevents more of them from forming. For bladder infections Easy Pee is the supplement used. Aller’s free is a treatment to stop scratching, rubbing, chewing on the feet, fur pulling rashes, throat, nose, ear, and eye irritation. The FDA is saying that the herbs, botanicals, and other supplements may be unapproved new animal drugs. Dietary supplements for animals such as vitamins and minerals are considered by the FDA as animal feed. Animal feeds have to be safe and properly labeled. Officials are worried about these supplements because there is no scientific proof that shows they are safe or that they contain what is on the labels and whether they make it safe for people to consume products made from some animals (beef, pork, etc.) that have used the supplements.
