Addiction Drug Rehab Treatment There are many drug rehab treatment centers across the country for addiction problems. There are also treatment centers for alcohol addiction that are either combined with the drug centers or separate from them. Drug and alcohol addiction is a big problem in the world and there are many people who will not receive the treatment they might need. The reasons for this might vary from denial, not wanting to stop the drugs or alcohol, or they plan to stop the addiction on their own. The most successful rates come from those who spend at least 3 months in rehab as an inpatient. Those who are outpatients or just go to rehab for a week or two, often revert back to their old habits. Drug and alcohol addiction requires more than one step to detox the body completely. There is a need to detox the body, mind, and spirit. The body has to be cleansed of the poison in it, then there needs to be treatment for the mind and soul. It has to be determined what the initial cause was that started the addiction in the first place. Often there were reasons such as depression, abuse, or other problems in the family or elsewhere which caused the on set of the problem. Until the problem is discovered, the cure can not be successful. There are professionals in the rehab centers who are ready to deal with each individual as needed. Every person has different problems so the treatment will be different. Some of the drugs that are often used too much are both legal prescription or non prescription drugs and also illegal drugs. Some addicts use more than one drug or combine them with alcohol. Some of the drugs that seem to be a problem are cocaine, crack, demerol, codeine, ecstasy, heroin, LSD, marijuana, methamphetamines, morphine, oxycontin, opiates, percoset, GHB, steroids, valium, xanax, and possibly others. Some of these can be deadly when used with alcohol but people will use it anyway. For some it seems that they have reached the bottom of the pit and see no way out so they don’t care what happens to them. Their self esteem has been damaged and they do not feel anything good about themselves. Some know they need help but do not know how to get it. If you have an alcohol or drug problem, or you know someone who does, discuss the problem with someone (family member or friend or doctor you can trust) and they will help you get the help you need. There are government programs that will help pay for the treatment if you cannot afford it yourself. If you have a friend who needs help, try to get them to seek treatment. You can not force anyone to get treatment but if the victim is ready to admit that they have a problem and are ready to turn their life around, you can help them find a treatment center near you.
