Cat Health Cat health can be important to the owner of the cat and there can be a lot of health problems a cat can have in it’s lifetime. Just like a dog or any other pet, they need special care. The cat can have many of the same health issues that attack the human and they need a doctors care when they suffer from some of them, just as a human needs. It may sound surprising to some but some of the medications used on humans are also used on animals but only in different doses. Some of the health problems your cat might face are parasites, inside and outside the body, cancer, digestive disturbances, heart and respiratory problems, infectious diseases, liver disease, reproductive problems, skin diseases. Skeletal and nervous system, and muscle problems, teeth and other diseases of the mouth, urinary tract and kidney infections. These sound all too familiar because they are some of the same problems the human may face. They are animals with the same kind of internal organs so it only makes sense that they can suffer from some of the same health issues that we do. The only problem is they can not tell us where it hurts so in many cases requires tests from a vet to find the problem so they can treat it. Cats can get fleas, ticks, mites, and mange, and lice which are parasites that invade the body on the outside. They can also suffer from certain skin disorders. The parasites that invade the inside of the cat are worms. There are roundworms, hookworms, tape worm, and heart worms. Parasites are organisms that get their nourishment by feeding on or in another animal. The majority of all cats or kittens get intestinal worms either before or shortly after birth. The worms are the most popular parasites that the dogs or cats have. Of course there is the fleas and ticks follow closely behind and are the most troublesome of the outside parasites. The vet can help you with the parasite problem your cat may have. With a few tests the vet can determine what kind of internal parasite or worm the cat has and treat it accordingly. There are also diseases that your cat should be vaccinated for each year and your vet can set up a schedule for you so you can get the cat vaccinated each year and have peace of mind in knowing they will not contract the disease from another cat. Cats stray a long way sometimes so you never know where they have been or what other cats they have been with. There are many stray cats wondering around and these cats often have not been vaccinated so it is much better to be safe than sorry. All Text Copyright © dmcrecycling.com |
