Anorexia Cacses

If you are looking for anorexia cacses (or causes), you can find them listed on many websites which have information about anorexic victims. It is believed that anorexia is a disease which is caused from a combination of biological, psychological, and sociocultural factors. The society as it is today puts a lot of stress and strain on people because many feel that they have to look like the skinny models, movie stars and other famous celebrities in order to succeed in life. These skinny figures are plastered all over the television , in magazines, and on billboards. They are even painted on the sides of buses in large towns. It is no wonder that the disease affects the younger generation the most. The majority of anorexic people are between the ages of 10 and 20 years old. They have a lot of peer pressure and are very vulnerable at that age. They also many times have a low self esteem so they think by losing weight, they will be able to cope with life much better. It is also believed that if there is someone else in the family with anorexia or other eating disorder, it might play a factor in the mix. Some people just begin by wanting to lose a few pounds but after they reach the safe average weight, they keep losing until they are very underweight and facing very severe health problems.

Anorexia causes severe damage to every vital organ in the body and a lot of it can not be treated or reversed. The brain, heart, liver, and kidneys are usually damaged the most. The lungs can also be damaged as well as other problems such as anemia, bone loss (which increases the risk for fractures), gastrointestinal problems (such as constipation, bloating, or nausea), electrolyte problems (such as low sodium, chloride, and/or low blood potassium), cessation of menstruation (in females), decreased testosterone (in males), fainting, dizziness, low blood pressure, irregular heart beat or heart failure, dehydration, osteoporosis, dry skin, soft hair all over the body, brittle nails, fatigue, abnormal blood count, and of course thin appearance. Often the victim hides the thinness and other symptoms and signs as long as they can and try to pretend they have no problem. They are in denial until their health begins to fail them and they are forced to seek help. In many cases the damage is already done to the vital organs before they seek help and sometimes it is not possible to give them the help they need to revive their health. Much of the damage can not be repaired.. It is very important to get the victim help as soon as possible but they have to admit that they have a problem and want help.
